Exciting News!!! Cordon Bleu Chef decides to work out of Lagorce.

On the 18th December Anna and I (Edward) were invited to eat at Rory Ramsden’s house, for a chat about Rory offering his services at Chateau Lagorce. We were met by a kind welcome by Izzy (Rorys wife and server) and Rory.

After a Coup de Cremant with Devils oysters, we sat for an informal meal, starting with a sublime chestnut and celery soup, we quickly realised that Rory was a very talented chef, as there was a multitude of complementary tastes all in a soup with great structure.

For main we moved onto a Pomerol, that complimented the Persian Lamb on a bed of risotto, I have to say I could not resist seconds even though I have just started a diet!

The desert of a twist on apple strudle was out of this world, but at the same time being light and not too rich.

Although the menu was maybe not what most of our clients would imagine / choose, he hit the nail on the head for myself and Anna, he intuitivly knew we would apreciate something a little different from the norm in the region. Obviously Rory can serve the typical French dishes as well (eg Beef Bourginon etc), which I can’t wait to taste, as I know they will be special!!!

By then end of the meal it was clear that Rory was definatly a chef we could accommodate, with him providing a brilliant service for our clients. To start with Rory will only be serving a maximum of 40 guests at one time, hence will not be available for wedding breakfasts. Rory will be offering a drop off service too, with varying levels of cooking needed to be done by yourselves as clients.

Rory will start providing his services at Lagorce 1st January 2009, please contact me for his number.
