Having enjoyed a memorable stay at the end of September at Chateau Lagorce with 16 friends  I thought I would record some of our impressions and recommendations.

There was plenty to do and lots of interesting places to visit in just a short drive from the Chateau particulary Arcachon and the great dune, Bordeaux and St. Emilion which Edward, the Estate Manager had been very helpful in suggesting. Whilst we did eat out at restaurants we found it very good value to have meals brought in and to make use of the beautiful and elegant dining room at the chateau.

The weather was very kind to us and we enjoyed clear blue skies and warm sunshine throughout our stay and even  had a day swimming/sunbathing to chill out after our flight and the stress of driving in the dark on the wrong side of the road!

The Chateau lived up to our expectations and is very welcoming . In fact we felt very much at home as soon as we arrived and were sorry to leave at the end of our week.

Hopefully we will arrange another stay in the not too distant future but perhaps driving down so we can stock up with some of the Chateau’s wines which are good quality and surprisingly cheap.
